- You have completed a university or higher professional education, (e.g. pharmaceutical technology, food science and technology, chemical technology, applied physics).
- You have preferably has experience of production processes in the pharmaceutical industry, the food industry or in chemical technology.
- You are capable of ongoing identification of improvement potential.
- You are a team player with communication skills.
- You have excellent oral and written skills in English.
- You have experience in a number of unit operations for the production of oral administration forms: high shear granulation, fluid bed granulation, roller compaction, tabletting, dry mixing of powders, spray drying.
- you are willing to travel intermittently.

Department/work environment
The Development Center Oss (DCO) in the Netherlands is part of the R&D organization of Merck Research Laboratories (MRL). The PSCS (Pharmaceutical Sciences & Clinical Supplies) department employs approximately 100 specialists, who develop pharmaceutical dosage forms in an environment where they are free to develop creative solutions on their own or as part of a team. The Pharmaceutical Sciences department develops new forms of administering existing medicines using advanced technologies for formulating, producing and analyzing these products. Some 100 highly trained scientists from varied backgrounds work in this innovative and inspiring department. You devise, set up and conduct experiments, independently or in a team. You investigate what effects specific physical properties have on the process and the products. You develop a process that can be scaled up and is transferable. The position combines practical experimental work with reporting work (~40%). You work with colleagues in multidisciplinary project teams to develop products. Projects last on average 2 to 3 years. All reporting is done in English.
